As a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing construction equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction, as well as experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Job Summary:

North Shore Track is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing construction equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction, as well as experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes to ensure they are in proper working order.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment.
  • Replace or repair damaged parts on equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Work in conjunction with the Equipment Operators to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair is required.
  • Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair in a rail construction environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
