Job Summary:
North Shore Track is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing construction equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction, as well as experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with heavy equipment.
- Replace or repair damaged parts on equipment.
- Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
- Work in conjunction with the Equipment Operators to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair is required.
- Experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair in a rail construction environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
